Empower immigrant women in need to unleash their artistic talents, create micro-enterprises and become sustaining members of the community.

Dear friends of mine. Some of you know that Empowered Women International is an organization close to my heart. I serve with pleasure as the VP of the board and have watched this small organization grow itself up by its bootstraps, expand its services from Virginia to Maryland and the District of Columbia and bring self-esteem, pride and entrepreneurial skills to the immigrant women with whom it works. I hope you will visit the website, www.ewint.org, to learn more about this wonderful non-profit that takes women who have moved here from other countries, often with nothing to sustain them, and turns them into sustaining members of the community. The founder and President, Marga Fripp, an immigrant herself ten years ago, never gives up, never says ‘no’ and never ceases to amaze people that meet her and see what she has accomplished with so little over the years. EWI has recently received its first major grant, which has provided wind beneath our wings. This latest fundraising initiative, to celebrate MOTHERS’ DAY, already starts with a healthy matching commitment from other donors. $10.00, $15.00, $25.00 – or whatever you can afford in these difficult times – will be greatly appreciated – and MATCHED!
