Help the youth of Children's Villlages of Honduras celebrate the Christmas Season and help Marcela Flores continue her education.
Marcela was born to a single mother; they lived in extreme poverty. As a result, her mother was not able to care for her or her siblings, and when she was just a baby, Marcela was handed over to the Honduran Social Welfare system. Fortunately, Marcela was placed at Children's Villlages of Honduras. When she arrived she seemed lost, without any hope for her future. She suffered from a lack of trust in others and low self-esteem. Marcela had never known the love of an adult and knew only of acting out to get attention. After being given the love and care she needed, Marcela has become a dedicated student. Her self-esteem has improved while learning to trust others. In the future she hopes to become a nurse so she can help others, just as others have helped her. Marcela is now 15 years old and in her second year of high school.
Honduras is the second poorest country in the western hemisphere. There are very few opprtunities for women in Honduras. Most leave school before the 6th grade. I am asking you to please help Marcela make a better life for herself in supporting her by making a donation .Education can make a significant difference in Marcela's life and in turn can have a tremendous impact on Honduran society. Education is proven way to break the cycle of poverty.
Marcela plans to follow in the footsteps of three other residents of CVoH who are presently attending the University and living their dreams of earning a college degree. Our long term goal at Cvoh is not only to care for the children physically, emotionally and spiritually, we strive to empower our children with the necessary tools to succeed in an independent joyous life.
