Thanks to everyone who helped us reach our goal with this campaign! Although the campaign is over, we appreciate your ongoing support.

The Mali Health Organizing Project empowers residents of Sikoro, Mali to improve maternal and child health. We do so by supporting residents in coming together to address health needs, promoting health prevention and education, and enhancing access to health care for poor families. Our programs include:

Action for Health

Community Health Workers and local clinics provide free services to children and pregnant women, working with over 3,600 individuals. In exchange, families’ participation in public service like malnutrition campaigns and trash clean-up days benefit the entire community.

Community Clinic

In 2009, MHOP partnered with local residents and government to build a public clinic so that families in remote areas could access healthcare. Today the clinic sees over 7,000 patients a year and is still growing.

Health Radio

Aired twice weekly to over one million listeners, our show covers health problems, solutions, and ways to get involved in improving the health of the Sikoro community. Listeners groups allow youth to discuss the show and take action.

Action Training

Through Action Training local residents work with MHOP facilitators to design, implement, and evaluate their own projects addressing health challenges like malaria prevention and access to clean water.
