An inclusive community of singers and supporters united around the performance of choral music that entertains, educates, and inspires.

Have you ever been told you can't do something you really wanted to do, or at least try do? Perhaps you were given the opportunity to try something only to be told you were not good enough?

Sadly for many people, this is an experience all to common in music, especially in choral/vocal music. But the truth is just about anyone can learn how to utilize their voice for singing to have a successful and rewarding experience in a choir. Singing is a human behavior that can be taught. True, we are not all born with voices that land us at the Met or on American Idol, but that doesn't mean one can not sing.

The Magic City Choral Society Men's and Women's Choruses exist to to provide adult continuing choral/music education so that any adult male or female can participate in high quality choral performances without audition. In essence, we say, "yes you can!" Just take a look at some of our videos to see how everyday people, some with little to no choral/vocal experience, come together, learn to sing, learn music, and perform some wonderful choral music!

The MCCS understand that arts, and choral arts in particular, makes a positive contribution to people's quality of time/life. The choral arts bring people together creating new communities, which connect and strengthen the larger communities in which these individuals belong. However, this only happens when people have access to the choral arts either as participants and/or as audience members. Providing a men's and women's chorus for people without audition accomplishes one aspect of creating access, however, all to often, the performing arts have admission costs which create financial barriers for some. The MCCS accomplishes the other aspect of access by providing concerts at world class venues free of charge.

Many of our friends/supporters and singers are amazed at what normal everyday people can do. We know it is not magic, but it feels like it!
