Lumana Credit - Fundraising

Lumana strengthens communities in rural Africa by empowering underserved populations with the tools for successful entrepreneurship. Lumana got its start in Atorkor, Ghana with a microfinance program incorporating business education and small loans in collaboration with the local chief in August 2008. After only a short time in operation, Lumana has developed a successful model for community-based microfinance and has built a data collection system that can be used to further the knowledge of development agencies in the area. As we expand the reach of our microfinance operations, we are using our data and community ties to build a platform for partner organizations to bring social businesses to our communities in specialized fields including health, education, agriculture and community economic development.
