Will you help ensure all people have the opportunity to live and work in community with dignity, safety and hope?

Your support provides essential services to provide for basic necessities – food, shelter, health, and safety – as well as the emotional and spiritual support to help your Minnesota neighbors overcome challenges, create full lives and contribute actively to community.

You can make a difference.

Will you support neighbors in need?

Say, “I WILL.”

  • Services for veterans, military personnel and their families
  • Crisis nurseries and shelters
  • Job training and employment services
  • Financial wellness
  • Counseling and emotional wellness services
  • Disaster recovery
  • Refugee settlement and support
  • Summer camps for children with special needs
  • Pregnancy counseling and adoption services

What people are saying about how LSS helped change their lives:

“My brothers and me, we would be on the streets and the staff at the LSS Bethany Crisis Shelter would come pick us up. It became a home to me. Without places like LSS, I don’t know if I would be alive today,” says Crystal who was served by the LSS crisis nursery as a child and LSS transitional housing during her youth – today she has a home and three children of her own.

“I really couldn’t get around and make meals, so having meals delivered right to my door was a life saver,” says Irene, who at age 98 is a regular diner at the LSS Senior Nutrition site in Spicer, MN.

“With Lutheran Social Service, I now have a plan and real hope that I can resolve my situation,” says Tammy who worked with an LSS foreclosure prevention expert to put an end to the payday loan cycle and get current on her home loan.

“I’m in a really good place in my life now. I want to thank Lutheran Social Service for pointing me in the right direction at a pretty scary time. Without them, I am not sure where I’d be right now,” says Darell, who experienced homelessness at age 16. Today, Darell is a father committed to provide the kind of love and care he himself didn’t experience.

“We don't know all that Kassie will eventually be able to do, but we do know that without this positive experience at LSS she wouldn’t be where she is today. She has incredible determination – she lives by her third-person mantra, ‘Kassie will never, never give up,’” says Lana, the mother of a young woman receiving care at an LSS transitional care home for adults with brain injury.

Thank you for your support!
