The Louisville Peace Council gives all 710,000 residents of Metro Louisville the opportunity to make Louisville a City Of Peace!

The mission and goal of the Louisville Peace Council-LPC is to build a

Community of Peace in Louisville by:

· Reducing drugs, crime & violence among youth & adults by increasing block watches and community peace making through non violence trainings!

· Strengthening marriage, parenting and stable loving families!

· Reducing poverty by cooperative economic ventures! Transition from welfare dependency to self sufficiency & joint economic empowerment!

· Increasing civic engagement through community service & increased citizen involvement in all aspects of civil society. Promote good governance, transparency and civic accountability.

    I hope more organizations will join in theses cause and the day of service and unite through out the year and help each other with their organization and bring true unity within our community by helping each other rather than just being consumed by our own cause. I hope this is something Service for Peace can help make a reality.

    I believe, that within the concepts & mission of LPC can create communities of unity & peace. If LPC do it through teaching knowledge, providing clear understanding and winning the trusts, respect and the community confidence.
