I feel very fortunate to be combining two passions of mine this April; running and helping pediatric oncology patients and their families.
When my mother was diagnosed with cancer I spent a lot of time at Dana Farber and it became my life passion to work specifically with children who were diagnosed with cancer and their siblings. I have been working and volunteering with this population for as long as I can remember and although the scope has changed, I can truly say that I have worked with some of the most amazing children and families who have truly changed my life. Through this work I have gotten to know an amazing foundation called Cops for Kids with Cancer and I am very grateful to be accepted onto their 2013 Boston marathon team.
On April 15, I will be fulfilling another dream of mine by running the Boston Marathon in support of this wonderful charity and all that they do to help pediatric oncology patients. My goal is to raise money that will help provide a family with the financial support it needs to continue to fight for the best possible care for their child.
This will be my second marathon and first time running Boston. Any donation would be greatly appreciated and no donation is too small. If you are unable to donate I hope to see you out there on race day!
