"To enrich the lives of boys by teaching excellence in choral music and self-discipline, thus preserving the heritage of boy choirs.”

The Land of Lakes Choirboys is an organization that develops fine young gentlemen through the discipline of music. We pride ourselves on our motto of “Music, Respect and Honor,” teaching boys responsibility and independence, musical skill and self-discipline, manners and appropriate behavior. We bring boys together to celebrate the gift of music while teaching them how to work as a team and how to become gentlemen. Our music education includes: music theory, sight-singing, ear training, harmonization, rhythm and much more. The boys’ eyes are opened to the profound effect music can have in their lives and the lives of their audiences around the world.

Each year, the organization works to raise substantial funds for the families of boys that cannot afford this program. It is only through the generosity of others that we can offer this to the boys that need it most. Your help with making this a reality is the only way we could possibly grant the chance to be a Choirboy to those young men.

Boys ages 5-7 are welcomed into the Prep Choir where they spend time becoming familiar with how their voice is used as an instrument. Boys ages 8-12, by successfully completing an audition, are welcomed into the Training Choir where they begin their intense study of music. After completing their training they are promoted to the Voyager Choir where they continue their study of music, manners and behavior. The Voyager Choir also tours in the Midwest. Then, based on openings in our Nordic and Viking Choirs, the boys are invited to enter into one of these choirs to develop further their musical skills by singing in three and four parts. The boys of the Nordic and Viking Choir travel extensively throughout the United Stats and abroad.

The Land of Lakes Choirboys devotes all of its time to boys – offering private voice instruction, leadership development, a music education and performance opportunities like none other. The organization is also a member of the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame and recognized for its contribution for keeping the arts alive for young boys in our area.

This is an organization that not only encourages musical development, but also teaches boys to be gentlemen who are respectful and responsible, while still allowing them to be boys. We are blessed and appreciative to have two boys who are a part of it.

The honor, integrity, love for music and mentoring boys in this organization is alive and refreshed!! Leaders walk the walk ALWAYS, not just when it suits their needs!! So proud to be a part thanks to my very close friend and a mentor of my own, John Fitzgerald. John started this choir with values, morals and honesty! Thank you John!
