Lindsay Grimes Supporting Jumpstart for Give to the Max

Every child deserves the chance to succeed, yet studies show that children from low-income neighborhoods are at a greater risk of school failure. Jumpstart is a national early education organization that helps these children develop the language and literacy skills they need to be successful in school, setting them on a path to close the achievement gap before it is too late.

Here in Washington, DC, Jumpstart partners 284 Corps members to work with almost 800 Washington D.C. preschool children living in low-income neighborhoods. Together, for the entire 2011-2012 school year, they will work on the language and literacy skills these children need to succeed not only in school, but also in life.

Please consider donating even just $10.00 to help me reach my goal on Give to the Max Day. These funds are critical as we begin to expand our program to serve more children who need us the most. And as many of you know, not only do I work for Jumpstart, but education is a cause that I care deeply about. The youngest residents of Washington, DC need our support today and throughout the year.
