The Life House “Adopt-A-Kid” Program educates the community about the issues facing homeless kids while providing an opportunity for hope.
In April 2014, Life House is featuring the story of Paige:
"Without Life House, I would be bouncing from house to house with no job and very stressed out."
Attempting to get away from an abusive relationship that lead to drug use, Paige found herself voluntarily entering treatment. After successfully completing treatment, Paige entered a halfway house where she realized how much more she wanted out of her life.
That's when Paige found Life House.
Paige first visited Life House with a friend who was looking for resouces (food, clothing, etc.). Paige had heard of Life House before, but she was reluctant to ask for help at the time. When she later returned to Life House, Paige began building relationships with staff and enrolled into Life House programs.
Today, Paige has her own safe apartment through Life House, she has a job she loves, and she is even attending school for Plebotomy.
"Life House is a wonderful program for young adults who don't have resources. Life House gives us help so we have a chance."
At Life House, around 35-50 teens each day like Paige walk through our doors. Some have suffered through histories of abuse, neglect, or abandonment.
What makes them all the same is they need a helping hand - a door of opportunity to a world where they can be safe, healthy, and have a real future. Simply put…
Homeless doesn’t have to mean Hopeless.
Just $29 / month will Open a Door of opportunity for homeless kids to a world where they can be safe, healthy, and able to grow.
