Hey Y'all! My name is Brianne Childress & I'm a missionary working to help send resources to Western Zambia via Conway, Arkansas!
I am excited to share with you the opportunity that God has provided me to continue missionary work with the Zambia Project here in the states. In 2011, I spent 10 months in Mongu, Zambia working as a full-time missionary with The Zambia Project. I helped with sponsorship for our feeding program for malnourished children, spent time with our orphaned children and caregivers establish a healthy environment in our children's homes, worked with widows that hand-rolled paper beads and sell them around the world, and volunteered at our local church.
Last August, I moved from Zambia to Conway, Arkansas to set up and run an administration office for the Zambia Project. Over the past year, this office has helped with distribution of Hope Art (the hand-rolled beads), fundraising, communication and growing the involvement from individuals, churches and organizations in the U.S. I have also applied for the project as a non-profit here in the U.S. for tax purposes. I have carried on with my responsibilities with our Save a Life feeding program. However, there is still a lot of work to be done! In the words of the Project’s leader, Paul, I will have to be “very entrepreneurial in this venture, raising funds, supporting yourself financially, being self-motivated and getting the job done, no matter what.” The various other parts of my missionary responsibilities with the Zambia Project are always increasing as this new adventure with the project continues to grow!
My 10 months in Zambia was mostly about God exposing me to a need unlike I’ve seen anywhere before. James 1:27 says, “Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress.” God has definitely challenged me with this scripture and changed my heart to care for and love the beautiful Lozi widows and orphans of Western Zambia!
All this to say, I still need prayer, support, and partnership! I will still be considered a full-time missionary while working from this end of the project. I still need to continue raising my own monthly support budget. Living in the U.S. increases my cost of living, so I need to increase my monthly budget. I am asking you to prayerfully consider partnering with me monthly. I would like to contact you soon to see if and what the Lord has placed upon your heart.
I can't say to you enough how much your support means as it allows me to faithfully and obediently follow God’s plans for my life. With your help, I will be able to advocate for and help vulnerable, malnourished, orphaned children of Western Zambia. With your help, I will be able to empower and love widowed and hopeless women and encourage them to rise above their circumstances and situations to a better life! Together, we can accomplish so much more!
