Molly is the beautiful daughter of Kevin and Lauren Allen. Molly has Rett Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that affects the way the brain develops. It occurs almost exclusively in girls and will affect her her whole life. The Rett Syndrome Research Trust describes Retts as follows:

"Imagine the symptons of autism, cerebral palsy, Parkinson's, epilepsy, and anxiety...all in one little girl."

And though Molly cannot talk or walk...she can still smile and laugh and be silly, just like any other girl.

There have been many advances in Rett Syndrome research, including the reversibility of the syndrome as seen in mice, but there is much more research that needs to be done. By donating to this cause you will help raise money and awareness and find a cure for Molly.

As for me, I will finally be running a half marathon at Disney World, something I've wanted to do for years. It will also be part of a belated 40th birthday pressent to myself (my birthday is in January but I can celebrate as long as I want to).
