Walktoberfest is a dog walk fundraiser & a fun day for dogs/families. Most importantly it raises money for the shelter pets. Can you help?

Did you know the Humane Society for Greater Nashua is the second busiest shelter in the state of New Hampshire? The shelter takes in and cares for over 2,500 pets every year. The staff and volunteers care for each kitten, dog, cat, puppy, rabbit, hamster, bird, ferret as if they were their own. I know because I see it happening every day.

I am fortunate to work at the shelter with the most compassionate and skilled animal care staff and volunteers. They do an amazing job saving animal lives and forever changing the lives of the people and families who come to our shelter and adopt.

Each pet that comes through our doors receives:

  • plenty of food and water
  • needed vaccines, medications, and medical care
  • spay/neuter surgery if needed (the shelter maintain 100% spay/neuter of all shelter pets prior to adoption)
  • a microchip
  • a warm bed & toys
  • and of course plenty of love and attention from staff & volunteers

There is nothing like the unconditional love of a pet! They are members of our families and make our lives whole. I live it myself with our cat Simon who I adore! Simon was adopted from our shelter in 2005.

It costs $3,000.00 to run the shelter EVERY DAY! Fundraisers like Walktoberfest and support from friends like you are VITAL to help us care for the shelter pets awaiting adoption!

Any contribution you can make is tax-deductible and will be greatly appreciated to help us continue to change lives of our four and two footed friends!
