The Idealware Research Fund

As you probably know, I'm the founder and Executive Director of a nonprofit called Idealware. Idealware is kind of a "Consumer Reports" for nonprofit software -- we provide well researched, impartial software reviews, reports, articles, and training to help nonprofits understand how they can use software to achieve their mission and save the world.

Nonprofits really struggle to understand how technology can help them. Nonprofit leaders know a huge amount about their mission area and are passionate about making change -- but don't offen know a huge amount about the software that can help. And in a time when time, money, and all resources are so limited, it makes less sense than ever for each of them to spend the time researching what software is available and what would work best for them.

That's where Idealware comes in. We provide nonprofits a huge head start by doing the inital software research for them, and distributing that impartial information for free.

But creating impartial research takes time and money, and that's where you come in. We're doing something different this year, and asking those we know to support the cause. In an effort to lead the way, I'm looking to raise $750 solely from people who don't work in nonprofit technology -- so from you, my friends and family! I'm personally matching up to $750 of gifts, so give early and give often.

I know there's a lot of requests on your donation dollars. But I truely believe that by giving to Idealware you are making a gift -- of software knowledge -- to every nonprofit you care about, all at the same time.
