Please donate to my Blitz Build fund and help me reach my goal of $50 to help build affordable housing for employees of our University!
UNC Build a Block is a student-led initiative to build 10 Habitat for Humanity houses for university and UNC hospital employees and their families during the 2010-2011 academic year.
UNC Habitat for Humanity will be building two homes, from foundation to roof, for employees of the University over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. I have pledged to raise $50 to support UNC Habitat's Build a Block initiative, though I hope to raise more than that!
I am very invested in this project because I actually tutor a Karen refugee girl from Burma whose family is supposed to get one of these houses, and I have met another family that is supposed to get one as well. I know it means a lot to both of these families to be able to move into homes of their own, and I am proud to see the UNC community rallying around this cause.
