LALMBA ASSOCIATION
A US registered nonprofit
Mission
Lalmba provides medical, educational and relief services to the people of Africa through self-help programs focused on teaching and training the people we serve to care for their own needs as much as possible, and providing them resources not usually available in Africa. We have a special love for orphan children whom we see, not as a burden, but as part of a brilliant future for Africa.
Programs
Medical Care
East Africa is amongst the very poorest areas of the world. Millions of people have no access to clean water, the most basic latrines, adequate food or basic medical care. Thousands of small children die of severe malnutrition and pneumonia. 1 out of every 10 women will die in childbirth.
Lalmba operates medical clinics in Kenya and Ethiopia that provide over 100,000 life-saving medical services a year.
Public Health and Education
Mobile teams take basic medical care and immunizations to remote villages where no healthcare is available. Intensive education efforts are aimed at basic sanitation and recognizing health problems such as TB and malnutrition early enough to be treated.
Caring for Orphans
Lalmba provides care for over 1500 orphan children. We supply food, clothing and school supplies for those able to live with a grandparent or uncle. Children’s Homes provide complete care for those orphans who have no one left to care for them at all.
Microfinance
Lalmba’s microfinance program in Kenya offers loans for individuals to start small businesses. These individuals become financially independent and provide services that raise the area’s quality of life
