LA2 - Sign Language Programs for Students & Adults

Bell School has a long and unique tradition of teaching all students sign language (ASL) and offering parents the chance to learn too. When the entire school community (hearing and deaf students, and their families) can communicate with ASL, everyone can communicate more freely, and participate more fully. But CPS doesn't provide us the funding we need to give everyone the chance to learn. With your funding, hearing students will be able to receive weekly instruction as part of their school day and adults can take a weekly class.

These funds will allow us to pay a consultant to teach sign language in the building, which CPS does not fund. With your funding, Bell will be able to continue offering a full range of ASL learning options for all. All Bell School students and parents - the entire Bell School community - will benefit.
