Mission

To help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and the mother.

Programs

Produce and distribute written educational materials and products, and maintain the LLLI website with current breastfeeding and parenting information. Ten million mothers in 64 countries benefit from this information and support. More than 7000 acccredited volunteers actively support mothers in communities worldwide.

Provide telephone help, as well as online dicsussion forums and help for mothers experiencing challenges with breastfeeding including seminars for mothers in lower income areas and area meetings throughout the USA, Canada and other countries.

Plan conferences, workshops, and physicians' seminars for health care providers, and accredited volunteers to update their breastfeeding and parenting information and techniques.
