I’m going to be running the 117th Boston Marathon on Monday, April 15, 2013 and I’ve set out to raise $6,000 for the Boys & Girls Club!
Boston is the city where I became a runner. It was only just a few years ago that I made the decision to run my first lap around a track. Since then I have run 5 half-marathons, 1 marathon, and even attempted my first 100k race this summer.
That's a lot of miles to run, but every journey begins with the first step. That first step on the track back in 2009 is one I am glad I took. You can take that first step with me today by helping me to raise money in support of my sponsor.
I am committing the time and energy to train to run 26.2 miles because I can’t think of a more worthy charity than the Boys & Girls Club. As the former Education Director in Newton I can attest that every day Clubs like this one allow kids to think bigger, grow stronger and become the people they dream of.
Now I would never ask anyone to donate to this cause if it weren't extremely important to me. Please join me in making a gift to the Club that will provide quality educational programs and athletic activities to kids so that they are equipped with the crucial skills needed to become healthy, fit and successful adults.
A donation, of any amount, will help!
Thanks for visiting and thank you VERY much for your support of my Boston Marathon run!
