Help me curb my caffeine addiction by supporting Bread for the City. For every $100 donated, I will go one whole day without caffeine!
Bread for the City is the amazing, amazing, amazing place that I have the privilege of working at each and every day. Much of this work is fueled by coffee, Diet Coke and Diet Dr. Pepper. I am willing to give all of that up so that a family in need can get the help they need this holiday season.
As many of you already know, Bread provides food and clothing, medical care, legal and social services to DC's poorest families. Each year we serve about 32,000 DC residents. It's a busy place!
While we work hard at BFC each day to make sure that our clients have their basic needs met, during the holidays we get to take some time to focus on the soft stuff -- maintaining family traditions.
November 1st kicked off Bread's annual Holiday Helpings campaign through which we will provide 9,000 low-income DC families with a turkey and all the trimmings for them to enjoy a traditional holiday meal in the dignity of their own homes. It's a special time around here, and I am inviting you to participate.
My goal is to raise $1,000 from my friends and family in support of Bread for the City and Holiday Helpings. And you have my word, for each $100 donated, I will go one whole day without caffeine. ONE WHOLE DAY. So, if I meet my goal of $1,000 donated, that's TEN DAYS without caffeine. Yikes!
So come on, give today to Bread for the City! You can make my life miserable while improving the life of another.
