It is official!!! On April 15th I am proud to be running in the 2013 Boston Marathon for Dream Big!

Dream Big! is an organization that provides low-income and homeless girls with sports and fitness equipment, uniforms, athletic footwear, program fees, training expenses, sports opportunities and the supplies they need to participate in sports and physical activities that contribute to their overall health, fitness, and well-being. Launched in Massachusetts in 2010, Dream Big! has already had a direct, positive effect on more than 3000 girls.

Dream Big! empowers girls through sports and physical activity. This is something that is truely near and dear to my heart. Athletic involvement contributed to my formative years and helped me learn discipline, teamwork, accountability, and perseverance. I am, and will be, forever grateful for the experiences and relationships participating in sports has provided me.

Over the next three months the Dream Big! Marathon Team, made up of myself and 14 other runners will work to raise over $80,000 for Dream Big!. My personal goal is $5,000 and I hope you will join me in support of this important cause by sponsoring my 26.2 mile run! I'm going to know that when I cross the finish line I not only changed my life but I also impacted many of others.
