KPC is a place, founded by Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo, where people and animals alike seek refuge. Whether it is spiritual or a quiet moment, there is something for everyone. It is a safe haven in the world for those in need. Here is a sampling of what is offered at KPC:

Authentic Buddhist teachings by the founder Jetsunma, a recognized Tulku, and many visiting Lamas from around the world

A 24 hour prayer vigil making prayers for peace and fulfilling prayer requests from around the world, to include those who are sick and dying. It is open to the public 24 hours a day

An unbroken lineage back to the Buddha

An aviary for abused and neglected exotic birds

A safe have for wildlife such as birds, feral cats, and deer

A home for feral cats where they are offered food, love, and veternarian care

A food bank for the community

65 acres of walking trails used by birdwatchers, individuals, families and their pets

A children's program

A meditation class for beginners

A crystal collection consisting of crystals from around the world

Business and House blessings performed by monks and nuns

A pilgrimage site as the Migyur Dorje stupa has many stories of healing

A rare and precious relic displayed on special occasions

    A place of spiritual refuge for over 25 years for all, with no judgement. There are over 30 Stupas, 24 hour prayer vigil for peace, and countless blessings; all possible because of the infinite kindness of Jetsunma, and her love for all sentient beings.

    KPC has been a haven for my family for over 10 years now. Now with a young child, we hike around the stupas and marvel in the beauty, and give thanks for Jetsama and the community for making this place a continued refuge of peace and thanksgiving for the D.C. area.
