Mission

Preschool Education.

Kinhaven is a parent-run, cooperative preschool. A professional director and a staff of trained teachers and aides conduct the daily operations of the school with parental assistance. Parents participate in the day-to-day program by performing a wide range of functional or administrative duties. The Board of Directors, which sets the major policy guidelines for the school, is also comprised entirely of parents.

Kinhaven has been in operation since 1971 and is a non-discriminatory, non-profit educational organization licensed by Arlington County and the Commonwealth of Virginia. While our facility is leased from a church, we are not affiliated with the church. We are a non-denominational school that accepts children of all religious, cultural, and social backgrounds.

Programs

An independent, non-sectarian, parent-directed school for approximately 100 pre-kindergarten age children.
