Please help me support Upper Iowa University as I ride in my first RAGBRAI. Go Team Peacock!
Team Peacock will celebrate its 10th year participating in RAGBRAI—the oldest, largest and longest bicycle touring event in the world. I’m a proud member of this 35-person team. Since 2005, we have raised more than $1.4 million to support student scholarships for Upper Iowa University. This year our team will be making the 418-mile trek across the state of Iowa, July 20-26, with the same goal in mind.
Each rider has set a goal to raise $1,000, but a friendly team competition has us "racing" against one another for even larger goals. Please consider making a donation to support my ride. Your contribution will help to ensure a quality education is available to deserving students at an affordable price. Every dollar raised goes directly toward scholarship funding and allowing students to pursue and reach their education goals. No gift is too small!
My Story: I am a native of central Florida with a Bachelor’s degree from Florida Southern College and a Master’s degree from the University of South Florida. I worked at Publix Supermarkets’ headquarters for twelve years before spending some time at Jabil Circuit and then Goodrich Aerospace. After living in Sao Paulo Brazil for a short period, my family and I moved to Minneapolis where I worked at Cargill. In April of 2013, we moved back to my husband’s home town of Sumner Iowa to take over the family heritage farm. I now proudly consider myself an honorary Peacock since I work at Upper Iowa University in the Information Technology department. I look forward to my very first ride and all the Peacock comradery that will be formed during this great event.
Thank you for your consideration. Go Team Peacocks!
