$287,590 left of this $300,000 matching grant from Children's Scholarship Fund
ALL DONATIONS WILL BE MATCHED EVERY DAY BY CHILDREN'S SCHOLARSHIP FUND until June 2012!!!! An extraordinary opportunity to stretch the value of your dollars and help deserving, economically challenged youth through education! The mission of KidsFirst, a 501(c)3 non-profit, is to empower low-income parents in the Twin Cities by giving them the opportunity to choose the quality school that best fits the needs of their child. KidsFirst provides private and parochial school tuition assistance to kids in K-8th grade.
KidsFirst provides scholarship awards to economically disadvantaged children in grades K-8 to attend a quality school of the parents' choice. Due to financial and school district limitations, low-income families would not be able to choose and send their child to a quality school without the help of KidsFirst. KidsFirst pays up to 75% of the tuition per year to qualified applicants.
Eligibility is based on financial need according to federal poverty and free & reduced lunch guidelines. Parents must contribute a portion towards tuition to encourage parental involvevent and a "stake in" their child's success. There are no academic requirements for KidsFirst awards since most children coming from inner-city public schools are usually behind. We give them a chance to not only catch up but to excel.

By making a private school education more affordable for low-income parents living in the Twin Cities metro-area, KidsFirst is giving under-privileged families School Choice and is providing kids with a tool, education, to pave the way for a promising future.
