Kick4Life uses the power of sport to transform the lives of some of the most disadvantaged children in Lesotho.
As many of you know, I lived in Lesotho for two years working in a village HIV/AIDS clinic. In that time I observed the challenges that affect the most vulnerabe people in my community - the orphans of Ha Senekane. Ha Senekane is a small, mountainous village located approximatley 30 kilometers from the nearest city.
It is a village that like many in this country have been ravaged by the scourage of HIV leaving families fragmented with many children having lost at least one parent. In this very poor region it is not unusual for a fourteen year old girl to be the head of a household, raising siblings and trying to just get by.
Despite these conditions, the people of Lesotho carry themselves with dignity and most often share a warm smile. For the children of my village and others in Lesotho, a modest donation to Kick4Life will bring hundreds of more smiles this year.
Please share my story, find out more about this great charity and help me make a difference this season as I prepare to run the New York City Half Marathon to support Kick4Life.
