Concerns Of Police Survivors "Cycle Across Illinois"

Every day across this great land law enforcement officers don a uniform and place themselves in harms way. They do so with the assurance that should the unspeakable occur, we will be there to support their families if they cannot.

When I embarked on the ride for the first time in 2010 I had no idea what a journey it would be. The privilege of cycling alongside the spouses, parents and children of fallen officers is an experience I will never forget.

While we ride for all of our officers, this year I will dedicate my trip to the memory of Sgt. Al Haymaker who I had the opportunity to work with for several years. Al was a man of strong faith and conviction who not only "talked the talk", but "walked the walk".
