Two years ago, we had the good fortune to recieve a sizable stimulus grant to expand our programing. At the time, the need was enormous both for computer literacy skills to apply for jobs and IT skills to obtain jobs that pay a living wage. We expanded from four sites to 26, from a team of two AmeriCorps instructors to a team of 12, and from teaching 450 students a year to teaching 1,400 last year.

Even with all this expansion, we are still not fully meeting the needs of the community. Last year by the end of each registration week, most classes are full and had a waiting list.

This fall our stimulus grant runs out. Our classes start September 17. We are down to nine AmeriCorps instructors and have already had to eliminate several of our locations, much to the dismay of our partners.
