I am going to Haiti in March 2013 and could use your help getting there :)
Haiti is a place that has always been on my mind ever since the catastrophic earthquake hit in 2010. I'm excited to say that I have the chance to visit and serve the people of Haiti this coming Spring of 2013.
As you may know, Haiti is the poorest country in the world and has the least developed economy in the Western Hemisphere. 2/3 of Haitians are unemployed, 80% of Haitians live on less than $2 a day and over 40% of the country is under 14 years old.
In March, we will be visiting Saint-Michel-de-l'Atalaye, which is in the northern center of the country. This area has one of the largest slums in the Northern Hemisphere. There are estimated 400k people living in this slum, and almost 70% of them don't even have bathrooms. There are two parts to our trip-a VBS with the children in a school and some construction.
The trip costs $1650 and that's where I need your help! Donate five, ten, twenty-five or whatever you can! I appreciate any and all support-whether it's financial or prayers, it all is important to me.
(thanks to my amazing friend John Black for the pictures of the children in Haiti. They will indeed steal your heart. I can't wait!)
