Give the gift of empowerment to immigrant women

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As some of you know, I serve on the Board of Empowered Women International and continue to be inspired by the amazing women who come through our doors. These are women who have come to the United States in search of freedom, equality, hope, opportunity and safety. Women from India, Rwanda, Mexico, Peru, Hungary and Cameroon. Women who want a better life for themselves and their families; women who are fleeing genocide, domestic violence and other forms of persecution; women who simply want the freedom of expression and movement that we who were born here take so for granted.

EWI helps these women to channel their creative and artistic abilities into sustainable businesses by teaching them entrepreneurial and financial skills, providing one-on-one coaching and helping open up new markets for these emerging entrepreneurs.

As a result, these women gain confidence and self-esteem, become economically self-sufficient and integrate into American society.
