Running for a good cause... the best kind of peer pressure!
Hey Everyone! While I was watching Rylie and Felix this summer, my dear friend, Stef, emailed me to ask if I would run the Disney Princess Half Marathon with her in honor of her precious daughter, Anna, who has Rett Syndrome. As of result of Rett, Anna was a 4 year old who was unable to sit on her own and could not walk or talk. She also received all nurishment through a feeding tube. Despite the fact that Anna could not talk, she ccould communicate through eye gaze and LOVED the Disney Movies, especially the villains. Researchers have found that Rett Syndrome is reversible in mice, but are still trying to find a cure for humans.
After chasing Rylie and Felix around all week, I was extremly tired and blessed. I decided that running for this sweet little girl was the least I could do! My plan was to run in her honor to raise money for a cure. However, after complications from Rett, Anna passed away at the beginning of September. Therefore, I will now be running for the memory of an amazing little girl that touched the lives of many, including myself.
To do this, I need your help! Through my run, I am trying to raise money for Girl Power 2 Cure, Inc. a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for treatments and a cure for Rett Syndrome. Any donation is helpful and all donations are tax-deductable!! Thanks for your help! :o)
