Katey Mirch, Boston Marathon 2010
A fundraiser supporting The Esplanade Association
On April 19, 2010 I am going to join thousands of runners in the historic Boston Marathon...a 26.2 mile route from Hopkinton to Boston. I will be running for The Esplanade Association, which is a nonprofit organization that works to restore and enhance Boston's historic Charles River Esplanade. The Esplanade is one of the oldest and most popular urban parks in the country. If you've walked along the Charles River or gone to the 4th of July Pops Concert at the Hatch Shell, you've experienced the Esplanade. For those of you who haven't, it is my favorite part of Boston, and where I plan to do most of my training runs this winter. With millions of visitors a year, the park gets some expected normal wear-and-tear, and needs everyone's help and support to help sustain it as a historic landmark.
This is The Esplanade Association's final year as an official charity for the Boston Marathon and the Esplanade's 100th Anniversary, so this is your chance to give back to the park and support me in this journey. With your help and support, we can help make the Esplanade an amazing park for everyone to come and visit. For those who give $45 or more, you will become an official TEA Member and receive our perks card which gives you access to several discounts and special offers to Boston businesses, plus, you will receive our monthly newsletter and invites to TEA events.
I appreciate any donations, big or small. Thank you to those of you who have already donated! As it is starting to warm up here in Boston, we are getting pretty excited for April 19th! Thank you again! ~Katey
