My 10K for Slum Kids
Karen Mustoe will run 6.2 miles to raise $$$ to support a dynamic Christian sports ministry for slum kids in India.
Hundreds of kids show up weekly to learn to play soccer from caring Christian coaches. Over time, the kids begin to trust and rely on their coaches, who lead with compassion and grace. They learn about Jesus and say YES to the gospel message after a practice or a game.
Born into extreme poverty in a Hindu caste culture, these kids begin to have hope for the first time in their lives. They embrace the tools for change, boldly moving beyond their helplessness into a promising future. Their Christian coaches encourage them every step of the way.
Today they play soccer on a dirt field bordered by human waste and filth, with the sounds and smells of idol worship and squalor. One day their surroundings could be vastly different, even perhaps like yours and mine.
Will you support me as I train for my 10K? These kids and their coaches are so worth every mile of preparation that will get me to the big event: The Phoenix Marathon/10K on March 2, 2013.
I would appreciate your prayer support as well.
100% of Fuel the Mission's proceeds are tax-deductible and will go directly to the sports ministry.
