This is it, 2010 is the year I have challenged myself to take on the Boston Marathon! Not only am I running 26.2 miles, I am also raising money for a charity, my charity and job, the Esplanade! For those who don’t know, I work for The Esplanade Association, a small but powerful non-profit dedicated to restoring and enhancing the Esplanade, a historic park and landmark in Boston.
The Esplanade is a fantastic getaway tucked in the hustle and bustle of Boston. The park is a place for many locals and visitors to run, sail, play catch, dance, watch fireworks, fall in love, celebrate, and enjoy the beauty of nature in the middle of Boston. The Esplanade is a treasured urban park, but with as much use and love for it, it still tends to be forgotten. Many take the park for granted and assume that the park can sustain itself, but with over a million visitors a year and budgets being cut from park funds the Esplanade needs the help and support from everyone.
Fortunately, The Esplanade Association has been working for the past 9 years to restore and enhance the Esplanade and make it a world renowned park. Coincidentally, 2010 not only marks the final year The Esplanade Association is an official charity of the Boston Marathon, but also the Esplanade’s 100th Anniversary. There is no better time than now to give back to the park, to contribute and personally help sustain a historic landmark for another 100 years. I am not alone in this journey. With your help and support we can raise the well needed funds to help make the Esplanade into a fantastic park and resource. A park that is the joy of the city, and a place that everyone wants to come and visit. Your support is greatly appreciated, no donation is too small or too large.
For those who give $45 or more, you will become an official TEA Member and receive our perks card which gives you access to several discounts and special offers to Boston businesses, plus, you will receive our monthly newsletter and invites to TEA events.
Thank you for your support and much love, Justin
