I'm running in the 117th Annual Boston Marathon to support the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts!
Dear Friends and Family,
In November 2012, I was chosen to be a part of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Boston Marathon team. As many of you know, I really started this journey in January of 2012 when I got on a treadmill and just started walking. I went from not being able to run for more than one minute and thirty seconds to completing a triathlon in 8 months. As much as I loved gaining fitness, the biggest benefit for me was the increase in my confidence and control over my health.
The confidence I gained from this experience has led me to now take on the Boston Marathon. And I could not be prouder to be running for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts! The funds I raise will go directly to the the “Get Moving Health Initiative” that educates girls on how to stay healthy and keep moving. Every year, the Girl Scouts offer quality indoor and outdoor programming to girls at 14 camp properties and year-round program offerings. These programs educate girls on health, fitness and wellness in a variety of ways as they experiment with new sports and activities and keep moving all year long.
Please help me to support this incredible program. Your donation will enable girls to experience the same levels of confidence I did when I began to make running a part of my life. Thank you in advance and I hope to see you out on the course on Marathon Monday!
