Running Boston for The Michael Lisnow Respite Center!
My name is Julie Gillis, and I am running the 2013 Boston Marathon to help support The Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center. The Respite Center is dedicated to helping families deal with the challenges of caring for children and adults with disabilities throughout the Greater Boston Area.
The mission of the Respite Center is to provide a home away from home for children and adults with disabilities. This center offers families the much-needed time off from the emotional and physical care needed by their children. The Respite Center provides daycare services, overnights and weekend camps.
After taking a ride out to the Respite center in Hopkinton this week and spending some time with the staff and children in this program, I was more determined then ever to help support this AMAZING organization. During my visit, staff and children told me about their lives and gave me a tour of the center. I was blown away by all the fun everyone seemed to be having and the care the staff put into their work. This isn’t just a place where you just drop your kids off while at work and cross your figures that they are cared for. This center is truly a home away from home for families with children and adults with disabilities.
I feel truly honored to be running the 2013 Boston Marathon in support of The Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center. Thanks in advance for your donation!
100% of your donations will go directly to the respite center and help support those families who are unable to cover the cost associated with care.
