I will be spending 7 months as a Program Director serving a community in Guatemala with Manna Project International.
Currently, I'm a senior at the University of Georgia pursuing a double major in Anthropology and International Affairs. I'll be gradutating in December and just three weeks later I will be in Guatemala. I have committed sevens months of 2013 in being a Program Director in Chaquijya, Guatemala with Manna Project International.
Manna Project International (MPI) is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization that has international sites in Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Ecuador, as well as campus chapters. Manna allows college students and recent graduates with opportunities to help communities within these countries.
I have already visited the MPI Nicaragua site with the Univeristy of Georgia chapter on a Spring Break trip this year. I had the opportunity to witness the programs that were run and to see the impact Manna has on the community. This trip inspired me to continue with MPI as a Program Director. I have developed a special love of Central America after spending a week in Nicaragua and over two months in Panama with Kalu Yala as an intern. I'm incredibly excited to be headed back.
I will be joining the current Guatemala team of dedicated volunteers in running a variety of programs including English classes, health and environmental programs.
In order to go serve the community in Guatemala I need to raise $6250 by July 1st 2013. The money that I raise will go to my living expenses as well as the the running of the programs. Absolutely all donations are appreciated from $10 to $100, every gift helps towards my goal. All donations are also tax-deductible.
