Support the Central Asia Institute for Juliana's 25th Bday!
Juliana Kerrest fundraising for Central Asia Institute
My birthday wish this year: help me promote and support community-based education in remote regions of northern Pakistan and Afghanistan!
***THANKS SO MUCH to everyone who donated!! You're all amazing and thank you for celebrating my 25th birthday with me in this wonderfully generous way!!!!***
NOTE: Recent allegations have arisen concerning the Central Asia Institute and how Mortenson runs the nonprofit. Like most people, I am hoping that they will be proven false. To see CAI's past financial statements, please go here (http://www.ikat.org/about-cai/financials/) and to read Mortenson's statement, please go here (http://www.ikat.org/wp-includes/documents/gregmessage.pdf). Thank you.
Hello everyone!
For my birthday on April 9th, I'm asking my friends and family for a special gift: help me raise a personal goal of $500 for the Central Asia Institute. The goal was originally $300 but your support has been terrific (thank you so much to everyone who joined me in donating!) and I think together we can make it. NOTE: By raising $500, we'll be contributing 5 years worth of maternal health care supplies! To learn how to donate offline, please scroll down in this email and read my P.P.S.
The Central Asia Institute a great cause that promotes and supports community-based education, especially for girls, in remote regions of northern Pakistan and Afghanistan. Many of you may have heard of the Executive Director, Greg Mortenson, who wrote Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace, One School At A Time and Stones into Schools: Promoting Peace through Education in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
I chose the Central Asia Institute because I believe that girls' education is vital to making the world a better place. (To read a wonderful article by Nancy Gibbs of TIME magazine about how in order to fight poverty, one must invest in girls' education, please click here - the statistics in the article are mind-boggling and a real wakeup call!)
What impact have they had so far?
What does your donation do?
Please consider giving to my Birthday Wish and together we can help bring peace and hope, one child at a time. If you can't give now, I'd really appreciate if you'd share this page with your friends and family. Please go to www.ikat.org to learn more about the organization.
Thank you very much in advance!
Loves and Hugs,
Juliana
P.S. Please email me your mailing address so that I can properly thank you!
P.P.S. If you would like to make an offline donation, simply let me know the amount so I can add it to my goal on the Razoo donation page and then follow these instructions from the CAI website about how to send a check by mail.
