Mandell School Walkathon on Monday, Nov. 19th to raise money for clothing, toys and supplies for children affected by the Hurricane Sandy.

My 7 and 5 year old boys, Daniel and Nicholas, are students at The Mandell School on the Upper West Side in Manhattan and will be participating in a walkathon organized by their school on November 19th to raise money for food and clothing for children who have lost their homes or property as a result of Sandy. Our school ran another emergency supply fundraiser last week, which was a big success and some of the teachers took those supplies directly to storm victims in Long Beach. Read this letter about that fundraiser:

100% of the proceeds of the Walkathon will go to Kids in Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.), a global children's charity. The K.I.D.S. Sandy Disaster Relief Team has mobilized on the ground in communities in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island and New Jersey to distribute NEW products to help the victims of Superstorm Sandy. The needs are enormous!

Please help our kids support those kids in need. I will personally match your donations up to $1,000. Plus, K.I.D.S. will match every $10 donated with $100 worth of clothes, toys and other products for children, so if everyone here matches my gift, we'll provide $20,000 of clothing, toys and diapers for children in need. It's a wonderful cause, which my children are participating in and we need your help!
