Bryant is a perfect example why we are running.  Research shows that debaters substantially increase their academic performance and are three times less likely to drop out of high school than their peers.

The Boston Urban Debate League was created in 2005 by local supporters and with the assistance of the National Association for Urban Debate Leagues. It has grown from a small, volunteer-driven organization to a prominent education initiative embraced by senior BPS leadership, including the Superintendent and the Boston School Committee. The Boston Debate League’s programming is unique among the city’s after-school and other youth development programs because it involves rigorous academic work, as well as competition and fun. While many programs aim merely to keep teens safe and occupied in the afternoon, debate provides an engaging, educational opportunity that actively cultivates social and academic skills. The BDL reaches a broad spectrum of students, from those already highly achieving to those who are off-track academically and at risk of dropping out. Help us extend the reach of this remarkable program!!!
