Chicago Run operates and supports running programs to improve the health of children and youth in Chicago's high-need communities.

"For the magnitude of joy increases a hundred fold, when you can extend a hand and help someone else rise above their own exceptions and believe that there really are NO LIMITS!" -Elizabeth Hurley

Family, friends, and even strangers have supported, and inspired me to be creative and audacious. It is with the confidence I have gained through many experiences, and the people surrounding me, that I am consistently raising the bar with challenges, to benefit myself and others.

As a member of Chicago Run’s Marathon Team, I intend on assisting in providing an opportunity that many of us may dislike, and take for granted- Running!

On a personal level, I have been able to see the benefits of Chicago Run through the involvement of my younger cousins. Chicago Run’s mission is to promote the health and wellness of Chicago children through innovative, engaging, and sustainable running programs in high-crime, low-income areas. We currently serve 13,400 students throughout 55 Chicago Public Schools.

Chicago Run currently has a wait list of schools in dire need of the benefits gained from running. By joining their charity team, I hope to motivate others to support this great cause and continue to make a difference. All donations will help Chicago Run meet the demand and allow for more children to get up and running during the 2012-2013 school year.

When I get to the Start Line on October 7th, I will not only be thinking of the thousands of kids that are running every day for their health, but I will also be carrying all of the support and generosity that you provided me with through the 26.2 miles! I know this will push me to the Finish Line!

In advance, thank you!
