We're heading to Kenya this summer to serve alongside a church working to share the Gospel with the Pokot People. Will you join us?
Dearest Friends and Family,
I trust that this note finds you well! I can hardly believe that 2011 has come to a close and am anticipating great things this coming year! One thing I am especially excited about is my trip to Kenya. Yes - you read that right...I'm going to Africa! Last August I was met with a challenge to spend a significant amount of time in another context, ministering to those in need. To go somewhere out of my normal sphere of influence and trust God to make an impact in the lives of others through me. A few Sundays ago I heard about the opportunity to travel with my home church, Northwest Community, to the Pokot tribe in Africa. Immediately my heart started beating and I knew this was the "other context" I had been praying about. Northwest has an on going ministry partnership with these people and has already made such an impact in the lives of these people! I can hardly wait to meet the faces I have only seen in pictures!
I will be gone from July 26-August 8 - thirteen days! Aaron will be taking care of the kids while I'm there....we BOTH need your prayers! :) While I'm gone, me and a team of 20 others will be ministering to the Kenyan people in various ways: hosting a family conference, and involvement in sports and youth ministry to name a few. We will also be exploring opportunities to help build wells in order to provide water in remote villages. I love so much that we already have an established relationship with the Pokot people. It is so exciting to know that my relationship with them won't end when I leave Africa. It will only be strengthened as I continue to support them through our church back in Cary.
I am so humbled to be given the opportunity to go on this trip. I covet your prayers as our team heads overseas. Would you please also consider financially supporting me as I go? We each need to raise $2850 for the trip by July 25. If you would like to help with expenses, please visit my online support page: http://www.razoo.com/story/Jenquirk
You can make a safe and secure donation (that's also tax deductible!) with your debit or credit card that only takes a few seconds! I’ll also be updating this page with news about our trip and specific ways you can pray. If you'd prefer to make a donation by check, please make your check out to Northwest Community Church and indicate on the memo line that it is for NWCC Missions. Please note that for tax reasons, Northwest Community Church will not be able to accept any donation check that has my name written on it. If my name appears anywhere on the check it will be returned to you for reissue. Please include a note letting the NWCC Accounting team know that the donation should be applied to my Kenya balance. You can mail your donation to:
7712 Carpenter Fire Station Rd
Cary, NC 27519
Thank you so much for considering partnering with me to minister to the Kenyan people! So thankful for you!
