Assign a dollar value for every mile you will travel to enjoy the holidays, and consider contributing that amount (or more!) to help Bread for the City provide a turkey and all the trimmings to hungry DC residents.

Holidays can create additional stress and anxiety for those in need. Bread for the City’s Holiday Helpings campaign provides low-income DC residents with a full, healthy meal to enjoy at home with their families.

Our goal is to feed 9,000 hungry families this year. It costs just $29 to feed a family. How many families will you help us feed?

If you don't like math, direct contributions of any amount are also welcome.

The mission of Bread for the City is to provide vulnerable residents of Washington, DC, with comprehensive services, including food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services, in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. We recognize that all people share a common humanity, and that all are responsible to themselves and to society as a whole. Therefore, we promote the mutual collaboration of clients, volunteers, donors, staff, and other community partners to alleviate the suffering caused by poverty and to rectify the conditions that perpetuate it.
