The "Walk For Youth" event is back in 2012 to support the North Andover Youth Center! Visit http://www.nayouth.com/walkforyouth.html for details of the event! The 2012 Walk for Youth is being brought back to life this June. The Walk for Youth is a community walk that was once a long standing tradition at the Youth Center that lasted from 1999 until 2004. The Walk for Youth is a 5K walk around North Andover, as well as a fun run around the Common with food, games and activities on the Common for all who participate. The event will be fun for all ages. The purpose of the Walk for Youth, just like the Youth Center itself, is to promote a sense of community among the youth of North Andover and enable younger citizens to support and make a difference in their community. The walk will benefit the Youth Center by keeping it up to date with everything it needs to continue to serve the children of North Andover. The proceeds will go towards increasing programming, services and opportunities that the Youth Center offers as well as enhancing the equipment and the building itself. We want this to be a large community event, where we not only celebrate the Youth Center but the importance of a strong community. The Walk for Youth is meant to be a town wide event, incorporating all age groups so we can help support and preserve the organization that has made and continues to make a difference in so many children’s lives since its creation. The North Andover Youth Center is a state-of-the-art facility that supports an incredible array of services to the youth community of North Andover, MA. The facility itself is not supported through tax revenues of the town. Instead, the Joseph N. Hermann Youth Center Inc., organization is a nonprofit organization that exists to financially support the youth center facility.
