Jack Diamond's Boston Marathon Fundraising for Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester

Thank you for visiting my Fundraising page! I am looking forward to running 26.2 miles in the Boston Marathon on April 16th as part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester's 2012 Marathon Team.

My son Ben worked for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester in Massachusetts in the summer of 2011. Ben worked in the Music Clubhouse as a teacher and enjoyed the experience so much that he may return next summer. I had the great opportunity to visit Ben at the Boys & Girls Club and was amazed at all I saw. The music program offers intro to music classes, fieldtrips, bands, a recording studio, one-on-one lessons in voice, drums, guitar, bass, piano and more. Each member pays only $5 per year and has access to these music programs as well as programs in education, technology, athletics, art, programs designed for children with disabilities and so much more.

Nearly 25% of the members' families live on less than $14,000 per year. The Boys & Girls Club is the "home away from home" for children of these families offering a safe alternative to the streets, healthy meals and endless opportunities for only $5 per year.
