Isaac and Christopher are travelling to Malawi this summer to help document Marie da Silva's school for orphans, JACARANDA.
On JUNE 20TH 2011, Isaac and Christopher will travel to the Jacaranda School for Orphans. Marie da Silva, the CNN Hero who started the Jacaranda School, generously invited Isaac and Chris to spend a month at the school this coming summer.
When we asked what they needed most, they told us they need a FUNDRAISING VIDEO. Chris is going to bring an HD camera and shoot and edit a short video they can use to share their story.
Marie and the Jacaranda School don't have an up-to-date documentary film that tells their story. By travelling there and shooting as well as gathering pre-existing footage, we plan to give the school a workable video that Marie can use as she travels the world to tell the story of the school she built in the home she grew up in.
We're raising money to help pay for travel, rent equipment, lenses, microphones, and buy data cards. We hope to conceptualize their world into a compelling series of shorts about the school.
By spending time there, we hope to find the stories that allows the audience to truly feel the humanity of the school. Even a small donation will go a long way to help us make this documentary. Every little bit helps! Thanks to razoo, your donation is 100% tax deductible.
The Jacaranda Foundation operates the Jacaranda School for Orphans, the only entirely free primary and secondary school in the whole of Malawi. They provide 400 orphan students with daily meals, AIDS education classes, plus agriculture activities through a vegetable garden and chicken farm.
