Inter Press Service (IPS) is an international communication institution with a global news agency at its core. http://www.ipsnews.net/

"Some accuse IPS of conceiving journalism as a new humanism. They are not wrong. Because the human being - with its abandonment, fragility and hopes - is at the core of IPS's concerns." - Ignacio Ramonet

Many things have changed since the times of snail mail and telex communications, but not the inequalities and imbalances that gave birth to IPS as an independent, global cooperative of journalists in 1964.

Since its founding, IPS has specialised in the coverage of social and economic development, human rights, the environment, and the foreign policies of developed powers as they interact with developing countries.

With foreign bureaus closing shop and media crackdowns intensifying, news from beyond our borders comes to us from increasingly concentrated, mainstream sources. IPS remains the only global news agency whose correspondents - over 70 percent - are from the developing countries in which they work, offering valuable local context and analysis.

We need your help to carry our mission forward. Please make a donation. Every dollar counts. The amounts to the right show you what these kinds of contributions help us to do.

Your donations will fund the critical work we do every day and our unique brand of international reporting. They’ll support our writers, photographers, editors and media trainers throughout the world – from the streets of Damascus to the Dadaab refugee camps, from the Amazon basin to the Mekong Delta – wherever people are fighting for a cause.

Support your media. Support IPS.

We report from over 440 locations worlwide with a network of more than 490 writers. Read more about us at ips.org and follow us on Twitter at @ipsnews and on Facebook.

Apoye a IPS.

IPS IS SO IMPORTANT. Get more news outlets to rely on IPS as much as AP, so that entire regions of the world don't get ignored or under-covered.
