Involving Youth in World Leadership

In keeping with the Montessori philosophy, preparing student to become responsible world citizens, La Crescent Montessori Academy actively participates in the Montessori Model of the United Nations program. The Montessori Model United Nations is the only Model United Nations program offered to upper elementary and middle school students. Through this program students assume the role of an ambassador from another country. Upon arrival to the United Nations the students discuss and negotiate possible solutions for issues that are currently in front of the Untied Nations. Students learn parliamentary procedure and consensus building. This allows them to opportunity for understanding and tolerance on an international basis.
