Mission
The International Cesarean Awareness Network, Inc. (ICAN) seeks to improve maternal child health by preventing unnecessary cesareans through education, providing support for cesarean recovery and promoting vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC).
Programs
ICAN's major operating programs include over 70 chapters in the USA/Canada/Europe/Asia; a quarterly newsletter, the Clarion; biannual conferences for consumers and health professionals; outreach to birthing families through educational website and literature; promotion of April as Cesarean Awareness Month.
